The Power of Media

Media.

Dr.Tan in Nanyang Siang Pau.

In today's world, both mainstream media and social media have helped a lot in promoting products, events. So now I am talking about the power of Media in helping LiGNO Biotech.

Yesterday, a group of reporters from Utusan came to LiGNO Biotech thanks to MARDI. Before Utusan, we had Nanyang Siang Pau first, and Sinar Harian second. The articles in Nanyang Siang Pau were published on three days continuously (if I'm not wrong). I remember the interview Dr.Tan (the advisor) had with Nanyang Siang Pau was quite a long one.
But meeting a group of reporters during the exhibition at Hari Jantung Sedunia at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa really got me all excited. Those reporters are such good sports listening to what I had to say about Tiger Milk Mushroom cultivated in LiGNO. At the end of it, they asked us to contact them so that they can get our story in their newspaper. To be in NST or Metro is such a huge boost to our publicity. These two newspapers have many readers I tell you.

Apart from the mainstream media, I blog sometimes; last time at my personal blog, now here- and use Facebook as the medium to promote LiGNO Biotech. I can only hope that one day many more people will know about Tiger Milk Mushroom and LiGNO Biotech so that in the future, those who really need this mushroom will know where to get it from. =)

Dwi Bahasa - English and Malay

With Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi at Hari Jantung Malaysia at Titiwangsa, 25/09/2011

If you notice, I have been blogging in both English and Malay. By doing this, I can reach through different kind of audience. Who knows a non-Malay speaking reader would come to this blog. Anyways, I hope this blog has been quite informative to any readers who drop by here. Hopefully, more people will get to know about Tiger Milk Mushroom and are interested to know about TMM cultivated at LiGNO Biotech. =)

Long, Long Ago

Penulisan mengenai CSR boleh ditemui dalam "Diary of John Everlyn","On The So-Called Tiger's Milk "Susu Rimau" Of The Malays" yang ditulis H.N. Ridley diterbitkan oleh Journal of the Straits Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society, Disember 1890 dan "China, Healing and the West to 1848".

..while staying recently at Pekan I procured, trough the kindness of Mr.Rodger, a fine specimen of the remarkable vegetable production, known to the Malays here as "Susu Rimau". The tradition is that it is the congealed milk of the tiger, and it is stated to produce eventually a climbing plant. It is considered a valuable medicine for asthma and other chest complaints, and is sold in bazaars at a high price..

Diary of John Everlyn.
Maybe a lot of people think that Tiger Milk Mushroom is a new thing that has just been found, discovered in our Malaysian tropical rain forest. But the thing is, it's been around and used by the natives; Orang Asli, Chinese and Malays for ages, dated back to as early as 1664 in The Diary of John Everlyn. TMM has also been mentioned in an old article - "China, Healing and the West to 1848" and also in a journal publication - "On The So-Called Tiger's Milk "Susu Rimau" Of The Malays" (H.N.Ridley) which was published in Journal of the Straits Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society.
